The continuous development of the IT industry brings with it numerous benefits. Every day a whole host of new tools, systems, or websites are created to improve aspects of daily life.
However, the plethora of new solutions also brings risks. Due to the speed of their development, users are exposed to many errors, which are an inevitable consequence of the initial phases of development. This is why the profession of software tester has been growing in importance in recent years.

An IT tester is a person who professionally verifies the correctness of applications, systems, or websites. They perform their work at various stages of the development of the solution under test, starting with the design and ending with a working tool. They often take on the role of a so-calledsecret customer They search for errors, simulating a wide variety of user behavior, from standard to quite irrational cases. They also analyze the performance of technology and play the most important role in the UX development process.

Several basic tasks of an IT tester can be distinguished:

  • requirement tests – checking the software's compliance with the software developer's requirements and assumptions
  • functional tests – are also known as black-box tests because the tester does not have access to information about the construction of the software they are testing.
  • acceptance tests – the purpose of which is not to detect errors, but only to obtain formal confirmation of the execution of software of adequate quality.
  • tests of individual system components
  • regression tests – conducted on unchanged elements of the software after making changes to the software.
