After a month of meetings and intensive work, we have completed the last stage of the IT internship.
We met every two weeks at Sector 3 Center for a day-long internship. In these pleasant and well-adapted rooms, we simulated the environment of a real workplace. Between live meetings, we practiced working remotely and doing home office work, a skill that is useful to everyone in today’s world.
Under the guidance of an expert, our beneficiaries learned what the real work of a tester looks like, i.e., writing test cases, using tools, creating scenarios, and, at the very end, executing tests.
IKEA alarm clocks posed no challenge to us, and we found several bugs in their software (including the lack of a leap year).
The Wrocław zoo website and application displayed several bugs and errors to prospective testers.
At the very end, a delegation from the European Foundation for Social Activation EFAS – the operator of the asperIT project – paid us a visit. Founder Paweł Wojtyczka and Foundation President Tomasz Jasiński awarded certificates to participants confirming the skills they gained during the course and congratulated all those present. Pizza awaited everyone, as we had a pizza party delayed by the coronavirus lockdown!
Once again, we would like to thank everyone without whom this edition could not have taken place – our partners, tutors, and testing experts. Above all, we would like to thank the participants. A wonderful group of young people showed that autism is not a limitation and offers great potential. We wish them all the best and will stay in touch with them.
Check out the photo gallery from this stage of the project and keep an eye on the page – we are about to start the full implementation of the Warsaw edition.
