Autism spectrum disorder is one of the neurodevelopmental disorders. It is characterized by difficulties in initiating and maintaining relationships and social communication, as well as limited patterns of behavior and interests. According to the World Health Organization, there are already more than 400,000 people living on the autism spectrum in Poland. For several years now, we have been organizing the asperIT project, which supports neuro-atypical people by training and also mobilizing them to take up jobs in technological professions.
World Autism Day is a special day for us, so we have planned a number of initiatives through which we want to raise awareness not only among the general community, but also among employers about neuro-atypical persons, as well as familiarize them with the way they function and think. This is extremely important because not everyone realizes how much potential people on the autism spectrum have.
Our initiatives include both offline and online activities. Online, you can find our events on Facebook and on LinkedIn. There you will find general information about the autism spectrum, while the final day will feature photos of our partners. The action will also be run on Instagram. Join us and on April 2, 2021, add a photo of yourself on Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram with a distinctive item in blue (e.g., shirt, socks, hat), tag the asperIT profile, and add the hashtag #ASPIrujemy. We are counting on your creativity! You can support us right now by following our events or putting a specially designed overlay on your profile picture. All you have to do is go to your private profile, click on your profile picture, then update your profile picture and add an overlay. You can find it by typing the name "asperIT – Na Niebiesko dla Autyzmu" (i.e., In blue for autism)
