The "European Foundation for Social Activation (EFAS)", whose flagship project is asperIT, is the work of people working in the Polish IT industry as entrepreneurs since 2006. A number of completed commercial projects that we have had the opportunity to carry out over the years have shown us the greatest needs in the Polish IT market. Wanting to implement a project that is innovative on a national scale and at the same time socially responsible, we came up with the idea of activating people with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) and with High-Functioning Autism (HFA). In other countries, people like this are extremely sought-after specialists in the new technology industry. This is due, in part, to their incredible predisposition to develop in this career. In Poland, people with AS/HFA very often do not work. No one is able to help them. This is a pity since many of them have extraordinary analytical, mathematical, and computer skills. The problem for these people is low social competence. Moreover, the legislature still does not take the issue seriously enough. Admittedly, more and more is being said about autism and Asperger's Syndrome However, it is still not enough. As late as 2016, the term 'person with Asperger's Syndrome' was officially introduced into the text of the Law on Education. It follows that schools will be able to help autistic people find their way in the job market in 10-15 years. All the more so, therefore, adults without proper school education have a big problem. Studies show that the phenomenon is growing. More and more children with this type of condition are being born. So if nothing changes in Poland, in a few years, there will be more and more people with AS/HFA who will not be professionally active. That is why we must act now. Our goal is to create a recruitment and training program for people with Asperger's Syndrome and High-Functioning Autism. Through innovative education methods, we will help these individuals realize their potential in the IT market. By doing so, we, first of all, want to contribute to the career development of these people, as well as develop the Polish IT market to make it even more competitive with the rest of the world. We know how to ensure that people who benefit from asperIT's help find employment in the IT industry. This is where their unique and above-average skills will give them good and profitable employment.
